Wine
Having spent over 20 years between us working in the wine trade, we are keen to offer a range of wines that is both exciting and fantastic value.

To keep the range interesting, and so there is always something new to try, we buy in parcels of wine that are great value and when they run out, we move on to something new.

One of the things that frustrates us most when we eat out is the inflated prices that some restaurants charge for wine. We have therefore chosen to provide a wide range of wines, both by the glass and the bottle, that offer excellent value for money.

champagnes and sparkling

Codorniu Cuvée Raventos NV, Cava, Spain
One of the oldest producers in Cava, the Codorniu family have been making sparkling wines for over 500 years. Made in the same method as Champagne, this is dry and fruity with a light, creamy aftertaste.

Canard-Duchene NV, Champagne, France
Light and fresh Champagne with soft, biscuity and toasty notes combined with bright citrus flavours.

Veuve Clicquot NV, Champagne, France
This Champagne needs no introductions, its yellow label makes it instantly recognizable and is undoubtedly one of the leading Champagne producers. Rich and creamy with lemon and biscuity flavours, it's a classic!

white wines

Zonda Chardonnay Chenin 2006, Mendoza, Argentina
A refreshing and aromatic white with crisp apple and pineapple flavours. Easy drinking and very fruity!

Sauvignon Blanc, Vin de Pays, 2005/2006, Vignerons de Valencay, France
This wine is dry and fresh with crisp citrus fruit and good acidity. Highly quaffable!

Pinot Grigio delle Venezie, 2006, Cortegiara, Italy
A cut above most Pinot Grigios, this is bright and zesty with lemon fruit flavours, from a leading Veneto producer.

Yering Frog Chardonnay 2004, Yarra valley, Australia
A really refreshing Australian chardonnay with ripe peach and grapefuit flavours and unlike many new world chardonnays, it is not too oaky.

Knappstein Hand Picked Riesling 2005, Clare valley, Australia
This is a personal favourite of ours from Australia. It's dry, with limey fruit flavours and perfect with spicy and Asian influenced dishes.

Gavi di Gavi Raccolto Tardivo 2004, Villa Lanata, Italy
Fantastic dry white from northern Italy, with delicate citrus and mineral characters. The grapes are harvested late to give truly concentrated flavours.

Delta Vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2006, New Zealand
New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc at its best, this is crisp and dry with classic gooseberry and herbaceous characters. A wine of great typicity and intensity.

Chablis 1er Cru, Montmains, Domaine Vocoret 2004, France
A steely and minerally Chablis with racy lemon and grapefruit characters. Good depth and complexity from an acclaimed Chablis producer.

rosé wines

Santa Rita Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé 2006, Maipo valley, Chile
Rosé is no longer a lightweight, girly drink, as this Chilean example shows. A full bodied, dark pink rosé with bags of juicy raspberry and strawberry fruit flavours.

red wines

Zonda Shiraz Malbec 2006, Mendoza, Argentina
A medium to full bodied red with ripe blackberry flavours and soft, spicy notes. Great with meaty dishes.

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2005, Gran Sasso, Italy
Soft, rich and supple, this is such an easy drinking wine with delicious fruit that goes well with a wide range of dishes.

Merlot del Veneto 2005, Cortegiara, Italy
Smooth, medium bodied red with red berry fruit flavours from a leading Veneto producer. A well balanced wine with classic Merlot characters.

Santa Rita Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Maipo valley, Chile
Full bodied and juicy Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, with ripe blackcurrant flavours, balanced by light vanilla notes from oak ageing.

Yering Frog Shiraz/Viognier 2005, Yarra valley, Australia
A rich and smooth red combining the plum and cherry notes of Shiraz lifted by the aromatic notes from the Viognier. A great blend.

Reserve Rouge 2004, Perrin et fils, Côtes du Rhône, France
Perrin is one of the leading producers in France's Rhone valley. This wine is warm and peppery, with rich black cherry fruit and a soft, herby character.

Delta Vineyards Marlborough Pinot Noir 2005, New Zealand
This 2005 Pinot Noir won the Champion Pinot Noir Trophy at the New Zealand International Wine Show. Great purity of fruit and good depth.

Muga Rioja Reserva 2003, Spain
From one of Rioja's most highly regarded producers, this is smooth and mellow with soft, vanilla notes from 3 years ageing in oak. A truly top flight wine of great finesse.
